Hello Again!

Well, I decided to resurrect the blog! It’s been almost 4 years since I last posted. I was about 7 months pregnant with our second little one, and it didn’t seem realistic to keep up with the blog while doing all the things that come with a growing family. But I’ve recently been getting the itch to again have a space that’s just for fun, so here we are! Before I start posting regular content, I want to give you a brief update on the last few years and what to expect this time around.

When I started my long hiatus, we were living in DC on Capitol Hill. I was at home with my son, Q, and soon to be born daughter, Selah. My husband Trip was on staff at our church, still doing some music, and struggling with his chronic illness (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis). Our daughter was born in July, and soon after we decided to move to Atlanta, Georgia. We moved to help plant a church and to be closer to his label; it was a bonus that we had lots of friends here and loved the city! We just hit the 3-year mark of life in Atlanta, and it has been a great 3 years. Praise God! I’m still at home with Selah who will turn 4 this summer and my big boy, Q,  started Kindergarten this past fall.

I decided to get back to blogging for basically the same reasons I started it in the first place. It’s an outlet for some of my creative passions, like writing and photography. I love being home with my kids and being freed up to help my husband manage his illness but it can drive me a little crazy sometimes. I’ve found that doing things that energize me, helps my overall health in the long run.

So what’s “Like to Love” all about now? Well, pretty much the same thing. It’s a space where I get to share about the things I love, and hopefully, introduce you to something you’ll love too. But you might notice the site is a little different.

I’ll be doing a lot fewer recipes and DIYs (if any). I still love a good DIY every now and then, but I do it a whole lot less than I used to. And since my husband has been on a bazillion different super-limiting diets, I don’t have the same kind of cooking freedom I use to, which takes some of the joy out of it.

So what should you expect? Something in these four categories.

  • LOVE: a kind of a catch-all for different things I love like books, podcasts etc.
  • ENGAGE: most of the content will be pretty light but I wanted to leave space for writing about things of more weight.
  • SPARK: this is where I’ll post things that “spark” inspiration for me, like highlighting a person or a company I love.
  • TOUR: where I’ll take you on a journey of some of the places I love.

The key word here is LOVE! I’ll be honest for a second and say that generally, I kinda hate the internet. It can be a scary place full of too much negativity and criticism and not enough grace and joy. My hope is that you will come here for the latter! So welcome back or welcome for the first time!

  1. I look forward to following your blog. My husband and I have been super impacted by your husbands music, and our three littles love the music as well. Blessings to your family!

  2. Wow this is so crazy… I am super into writing and photography too! And after reading you other posts, I think we’re kind of similar (in habits and thoughts and feelings and such… I’m not an adult or a mom 😊)
