15 Beautiful Sundresses for Women Over 60

I love sundresses! I can’t say it loud enough, and I can’t own enough of them. As I get older, I am noticing my taste in sundresses change.

The ones that I now navigate towards are longer, offer a little more coverage, and I tend to also prefer natural fabrics over synthetics. Cotton sundresses are comfortable and breathe easily, making them great for hot summer days and long summer nights.

Sundresses for women over 60 can be solid, printed, and in a variety of styles and fabrics. Do you feel the need to hide away in a shapeless dress because of the little extra around your middle? You’re not alone. It’s a common mistake older women make.

But did you know that A-line, empire waists, fit-and-flare, and belted sundresses tend to flatter an aging woman’s body best?

Let’s take a look at some sundresses that don’t look like shapeless bags and that will make you look and feel fabulous. I have assembled suggested accessories to complete the look of each sundress.

Anne Klein Bow-Front Printed Midi Dress

Anne Klein makes beautiful dresses, and this one is no exception. The soft blue floral print is on-trend without being too loud. The boat neck and shape of this dress is perfect for women over 60.

Style & Co Plus Size Printed Tie-Shoulder Dress

Macy’s have a beautiful selection of dresses. This one is a little more casual. It’s an easy-to-wear everyday sundress that you can accentuate with a pop of colored accessories.

Navy Print Sleeveless Fit and Flare Dress

Who doesn’t love a polka dot dress? I know I do. This classic fit and flare dress will have you feeling like Audrey Hepburn. Keep it simple by accessorizing it with all-white accessories.

Ulla Johnson Eryn Print Sundress

Do you like colorful prints? This dreamy empire waist dress has you covered. It’s ultra-feminine and pairs well with salmon-colored accessories. Carry a matching scarf/wrap to cover your shoulders or arms if you wish.

Halogen® Faux-Wrap Dress

Wrap dresses are flattering on practically any body shape. This one mimics the wrap dress style in an easy to wear fashion. The 2-tone floral print is big but not overpowering. Perfect summer color combo.

Rogue Stretch-Jacquard Dress

My favorite dress designer, Diane Von Furstenberg, is the mastermind behind the origin of the wrap dress and has been designing dresses that compliment women’s bodies for several decades. This bold printed, sleeveless sundress from her recent collection is perfect for the animal print lovers out there.

Raquel Allegra Tie-Dye V-Neck Midi Dress

Feeling a little nostalgic for the 60s? This bright tie-dye sundress is sure to make you feel like you’re 20 again (but without looking like you’re trying to look like you’re 20). Wear it with natural-colored accessories to keep it fun yet toned down.

3.1 Phillip Lim Windowpane Wrap Midi Dress

Phillip Lim has created a great sundress that fits a variety of body types. The graphic print is sophisticated, and you can dress it up or dress it down as much as you want.

NIC+ZOE Santa Monica Stretch-Cotton Shirtdress

Shirtdresses never go out of style. They are elegant and look good on several body types. This one has that little bit of stretch to make it extra comfortable.

Vince Camuto Wistful Stripe A-Line Dress

Love stripes? This design combines stripes in a fun way to create an easy to wear casual sundress.

Printed Maxi Dress

For those of us prefer larger dresses, here’s a maxi printed dress. Very easy to wear if you are on the taller side. Brighten it up with a splash of colored accessories.

Kobi Halperin Marnie Ikat Linen Dress

Got great legs and want to show them off? This dress is almost knee-length and looks great on many body types. Sure to accentuate your glorious curves.

ASTR the Label Floral Print Dress

This dress is sure to stand the test of time. The classic cut and print is an easy everyday wear.

Style & Co Plus Size Printed Sleeveless Dress

If you like dresses on the bigger side, try to choose solids over prints. But that can get boring, right? This little sundress has a cute tie-dye print effect at the hem making it fun to wear and accessorize.

Printed Sleeveless Wrap Dress

I love this dress from Donna Karan. Wrap dresses are easy to wear and honestly flatter many body types.

I know the models in these photos don’t represent our age group and body types, even if the dresses are designed with older women in mind.

I do my best to search for photos that feature older models, but it’s not always possible. The fashion industry has many marketing changes to implement where ageism is concerned.

Regardless, these are wonderful sundresses in varied price ranges. Surely, there’s one on this list that will fit your budget and your body perfectly.

Do you like sundresses? Which one on this list is your favorite? How do you like to accessorize your sundresses? Where do you shop for dresses? Let’s have a conversation.
